Kingsly finished 9th in the World Youth Scrabble Championship 2026

Kingsly KANG, a Hong Kong youth Scrabble player, finished 9th in the World Youth Scrabble Championship 2026, held from 7 to 9 August 2026.

It is not the first time Kingsly has participated in the WYSC, but it is the first time he has received an award. “Winning 9th place in my fourth World Youth Championship experience is truly unbelievable and deeply touching. Facing such intense competition brought high pressure, but learning to believe in myself, stay confident, and rely on the incredible support around me made all the difference. I am so thankful and grateful for this journey, and I’m motivated to keep improving my Scrabble skills for future international tournaments,” Kingsly said.

Apart from Kingsly, WONG Tsz Sen also participated in the WYSC this year.

The Association has previously announced the qualification mechanism for the WYSC 2027 to its members. We are looking towards having a stronger Team Hong Kong for the WYSC 2027 in Thailand.
