On 9 April 2016, HKSPA organised the Inter-School Scrabble Championship 2016 - Primary (Open) for local primary schools of all levels. 13 schools participated in the tournament, fighting for the highest honour in Hong Kong priamry school Scrabble field.

A team-based format is used in the competition. 3 players from the same school faced 3 from another school in each round, and a school wins by a 3-0 or 2-1 victory. The teams are paired by Swiss draw. The number of games was reduced from 5 to 4 due to time constraints.

After 4 exciting rounds, S.K.H. St. Michael’s Primary School won the Gold Cup Champion. It is the 8th time they win this prestigious championship. Congratulations!

Methodist School got the Gold Cup 1st Runner-up while Baptist (Sha Tin Wai) Lui Ming Choi Primary School got the Gold Cup 2nd Runner-up.

Shek Yui Hong from Tin Shui Wai Catholic Primary School got the High Word by placing JUNIORS for 113 points. A great word and great score by a great junior!
