Hong Kong Qualification Mechanism for the World Youth Scrabble Championship 2024

The World English-Language Scrabble Players Association and Scrabble Federation of Sri Lanka will organise the World Youth Scrabble Championship 2024 ("WYSC 2024") from 6-8 September in Citrus Waskaduwa, Sri Lanka.

Hong Kong has ten spots for quota players. To be eligible, you must be an HKSPA individual member aged under 18 and have Hong Kong representation status under the Hong Kong Player Statuses Regulation. If you meet these criteria, you could be representing Hong Kong in the WYSC 2024.

If you are interested in representing Hong Kong in the WYSC 2024, please send an email to info@hkscrabble.org on or before 13 May 2024 23:59 [GMT +8] to express your interest. State your full name in your email so that we can identify who you are. Students studying at a primary or secondary school should seek for permission from your school teacher prior to expressing any interest as taking leave from school may be necessary.

If more than ten players are expressing interest, we will organise a Qualifier in late June to select the ten quota players. Otherwise, all eligible players who have expressed interest will be accepted as quota players.
To learn more about the WYSC 2024, please visit the official website at https://wysc.scrabble.lk/.

To avoid doubt, players must have Hong Kong representation status under the Hong Kong Player Statuses Regulation to represent Hong Kong in the WYSC 2024. Receiving this email does not mean you are eligible to represent Hong Kong. Also, if there is a Qualifier, eligible players who have not expressed interest may join the Qualifier.
