16 Hong Kong players competing in the online ASTAR Scrabble Challenge International 2022

The ASTAR Scrabble Challenge International 2022 will take place this weekend (21- 22 May).

This year, Hong Kong will have its largest group ever to the tournament. 16 contestants from Hong Kong will be playing in this 360 players event, competing in the U-15, U-18 and Open Categories with other eight countries.

The 16 contestants are:

Open Category:

  • Euclid Hui
  • Douglas Tsang

Under-18 Category:

  • Thomson Law Long Yin (Methodist College)
  • Ian Tsoi Yin (Methodist College)
  • Ernest So Yat Long (Methodist College)
  • Alex Chan Ka Kit (Methodist College)
  • Fung Ka Kuen (Methodist College)
  • Matthew Lam Pui Wai (Methodist College)
  • Leung Hoi Yi (CCC Mong Man Wai College)

Under-15 Category:

  • Agnes Lai Sum Yi (Methodist College)
  • Stephanie Poon Cheuk Laam (Methodist College)
  • Henry Lou Hoi Hang (Methodist College)
  • Baldwin Chung Man Hiu (Methodist College)
  • Anthony Ting Man Yui (Methodist College)
  • Joseph Leung Chun Hei (Methodist College)
  • Vanessa Lou Yuen Ching (St. Paul's Co-educational College)

ASCI is an annual event hosted by the University of Malaya since 2006. From 2021 onwards, the ASCI has moved online due to the coronavirus pandemic.
