Background
To ensure the efficiency in venue set-up of the Hong Kong Youth Scrabble Champions Tournament 2017, the Hong Kong Scrabble Players Association (hereinafter “HKSPA”) is now recruiting helpers.
Details
10 helpers including the available HKSPA Committee members are needed for the venue set-up period. They are expected to help with the venue set-up including but not limited to moving desks & chairs, affixing table signs, running the registration counter and cooperate with other helpers in ensuring the event can start on time.
Helpers are expected to report duty by 08:30 and they will finish their duty before the first round starts.
Subsidies
HKSPA will provide HK$30 transportation and meal subsidies for helpers who can help for the entire set-up session. No subsidy will be provided for helpers who cannot help for the entire session, or failed to perform their duties during the period.
The aim of issuing subsidies to helpers are for covering any reasonable transportation and meal costs incurred on the day of the tournament. It should not be regarded as wage to the helpers.
Target
Secondary school students, teachers and parents are welcomed to be helpers, but not primary school students. Players with experience in tournament running and knowledge about standard tournament rules will be considered first.
How to apply
Please send an email to info@hkscrabble.org to express your interest in being a helper. Subsidies will only be issued after the completion of service.
If you do not hear from us before the tournament begins, you shall consider your application unsuccessful.
You are also welcome to help us in other timeslot of the day without subsidies. Please send an email to info@hkscrabble.org to express your interest. Your help is much needed to ensure the success of the tournament.
