Hong Kong Scrabble Organisers Tournament 2019

Hong Kong Scrabble Organisers Tournament 2019 is a competition to honor those committee members who are non-expert players, but have selflessly dedicated their time to put on big and small Scrabble competitions in the past years.

Eligibility

1. Current HKSPA committee members (including student committee members) and officers.
2. Former HKSPA committee members (including student committee members) and officers who have served at least 2 terms.

However, only players with a HKSPA rating lower than 1900 are eligible.

18 August 2019: 12:00 to 19:00

Foreign Correspondents’ Club, 2 Lower Albert Road, Central, Hong Kong

Format

With 6 players:
Game 1 to 5: Round Robin; Game 6 and 7: KOTH (Gibsonisation rules apply)

With 7 and 8 players:
Game 1 to 7: Round Robin

With 9 or more players:
Game 1 and 2: random draw; Game 3 to 6, Australian Swiss Draw; Game 7: KOTH (Gibsonisation rules apply)

Prizes

• Winner: Big Trophy
• 1st Runner-up: Medium Trophy
• 2nd Runner-up: Small Trophy
• High Word: Medal
• High Game: Medal

Collins Official Scrabble Words 2019 (CSW19) will be used as the official dictionary.

WESPA rules version 3 is applicable.

5 points unsubstantiated challenge penalty.
