Updates to the Easter Online Scrabble Challenge
Thank you players for supporting the Easter Online Scrabble Challenge 2021! We have received interest from students studying in various secondary schools, and over double the number of entrants compared to the Challenge in 2021!
In view of the enrollment situation, we would like to announce the following updates to the Challenge:
- The enrollment deadline for the Secondary (Open) and Secondary (Novice) divisions will be extended to 11 April 2022, Monday. However, players enrolling after 31 March 2022 may not participate in the introductory workshop.
- We will try our best to pair players not to play with players from the same school in the first round. However, starting from the second round, players may play with players from the same school.
- The Open Division of the Challenge will be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.
The Hong Kong Scrabble Championship ("Championship") is expected to be a 2-day face-to-face tournament. As the Open Division of the Challenge is now cancelled, we will make alternative qualifying arrangements and details will be announced in due course. It is anticipated the Championship will take place in summer 2022, subject to the latest government infection control measures.
