Hong Kong Scrabble Players Association (HKSPA) and Japan Scrabble Players Association (JASPA) will be co-organising the East Asian Scrabble Championship again in 2019.
The East Asian Scrabble Championship 2019 will be held in Osaka, Japan on 30 March 2019 (Saturday). The Championship will be HKSPA-rated.
The Championship will be a team event between Hong Kong and Japan, the two nations playing Scrabble competitively in east Asia. 5 representatives from each side will play a double round-robin in the tournament.
Qualifying for Hong Kong
To qualify for Team Hong Kong for the East Asian Scrabble Championship 2019, one must:
- Be an HKSPA member on or before 31 December 2018
- Have an HKSPA ranking (at least 50 rated games played)
- Have Hong Kong representation status under the Hong Kong Player Statuses Regulation
The peak rating, excluding provisional ratings, from 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2018 will be used to determine the priority to enter HK team. The latest peak rating for the period is available here.
HKSPA will invite players according to the priority after 31 December 2018.
